Battle of York 2017

On Sunday April 23 we held our annual Battle of York Field Day. This makes 39 years in a row for IMUC! This year the Glengarry Light Infantry joined in as well to work out the kinks before the re-enacting season officially starts! During the original Battle of York, both the Glennies and IMUC were present to back up the 8th Regiment of Foot who were garrisoned in the fort. A third Canadian regiment, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, was also present for the original Battle of York. These three fensible regiments, The RNR, The GLI and IMUC had each other’s backs in the early 1800s and today at modern re-enactments!

Annual Regimental Mess Dinner 2017

On Saturday April 29th IMUC, IMAC and The Campfollowers held their annual Mess Dinner at Old Fort York in Toronto. Our Regimental Guests for the evening were Commodore Tom Hurlbut and Andrea Hodgins. After dinner, The Commodore spoke on the role of the Royal Navy in North America during the War of 1812. Guests from the Royal Artillery, The King’s Loyal Sutlers, The Glengarry Light Infantry and the Royal Scots were also in attendance.
