Our Unit History
Early in the War of 1812, it became apparent that the existing militia system was woefully inadequate for the defense of Upper Canada. To rectify this situation, the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada passed an Act creating the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada. Battle of Ogdesnburgh 2020 - February 2020
“BC”, (Before COVID) members of the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada were able to commemorate a War of 1812 event in Ogdensburgh New York. It was a brisk and sunny weekend and we joined with Tim Cryderman and Forsythe’s Rifles to again remember this important skirmish from over 200 years ago. As usual, the hospitality was superb. Little did we know that would be the beginning and the end of the re-enacting season for 2020! Those of us that couldn’t make it, are extremely jealous!
