Early in the War of 1812, it became apparent that the existing militia system was woefully inadequate for the defense of Upper Canada. To rectify this situation, the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada passed an Act creating the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada. The Military Re-Enactment Society's Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada and Camp Followers are available for presentations and weekend encampments. In the past we have been available to add a historical flavour to arts festivals, pioneer villages, corporate events and school visitations.

We usually reserve time for 1 or 2 paying events each year so we may cover the costs involved in running our not for profit organization.
In the recent past we have been involved with the Uxbridge Steamshow, The Scugog Shores Historical Museum Harvest Festival, Downsview Park Canada Day Celebrations, The Summer of Sorrows movie shoot and many school visits.
